All about me
Hello, my name is Natalie and I have been around horses since the tender age of 3, where my mother begrudgingly introduced me to the world of horses by sitting me on a shire horse and I have been closely involved in the equine industry ever since.
I left school and went straight to Moreton Morrell to gain some on yard experience and get a management certificate, which led me to work on various yards from livery, dressage, racing and jumping. This experience given me a wider understanding of what injuries and complications come from various sports. I have engaged in multiple disciplines over the years and have trained and ridden to medium in dressage, participated in showing with my PRE stallion and attended the GBPRE and championship level with the international showing society as well as jumping with the BSJA.
All About Me
Over the years I have been around all calibre of equestrians and have been a constant support for those around me working alongside them to achieve a similar goal of understanding their horses better. If it's not riding dilemmas, it is support from the ground either with in hand work or eyes on the ground in order to create a greater horse and rider harmony, understanding the needs of both horse and rider and offering support for both.
During my training I have learnt about the horse as a whole, understanding the anatomy and the interaction of bones, joints and muscles. Training involves the completion of assignments on the equine skeletal, muscular, lymphatic and circulatory systems. Some of the topics covered are
Cellular Anatomy and Physiology
Conformation and Observation
Neurology
Musculoskeletal Anatomy
Muscle Function and Dysfunction Origin and Insertion
Understanding Equine Massage
Massage therapy principals and concepts (including clinical practice)
Stretching techniques and after massage exercises
Rehabilitation muscle damage causes and issues
Gait Analysis
Trigger points
Communication
Giving me an overall picture of your horses health.
